OUR Leadership

Abathar Tajaldeen

Abathar Tajaldeen is the Founder of Bridgelex, a growing law firm headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, with a national and global footprint. He leads the firm’s immigration and global services divisions. He has extensive experience representing and advising hundreds of clients in family, employment, investment, and removal immigration. Additionally, he has a passion for advising startups and small businesses on protecting intellectual property, licensing and regulatory matters, and contract drafting and negotiations.

In addition to his legal experience, Tajaldeen has a background in nonprofit executive leadership and management. He served as the Executive Director at the Mainstay Foundation for over eight years, leading major capacity building programs in the United States and humanitarian projects in Iraq, India, Kenya, and Tanzania. He currently serves on the Board of Directors, focusing on outreach and fundraising efforts.

Tajaldeen has a keen passion for leadership and capacity building, training and mentoring hundreds of university students. He co-authored Leadership and Development and Practical Advice, focusing on important personal development principles for university students and young professionals. Tajaldeen holds a J.D. in Law and B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Wayne State University.

Kamal Alsawafy

Kamal Alsawafy is a longtime Dearborn resident and a product of the Dearborn Public Schools. He currently serves our country as a lieutenant in the Michigan Army National Guard. He also serves our county as the business development manager. Now, he is looking forward to serving our city as your Council member.
